You'll arrive and check into Hotel Due Torri in Bomerano, a quiet village nestled high in the hills above the Amalfi Coast. If your flight gets in early, there's time to wander around the village and get a feel for the place. Later this evening, you'll meet your tour leader and the other travelers in your group over dinner.
Optional Activities
After a welcome briefing about what's coming up during the week, you'll head out on a circular walk up to the summit of Monte Tre Calli. The views from up there are really nice, with the jagged coastline and the sea stretching out below. On clear days you can see all the way to Capri. You'll return to Bomerano for lunch (there's an optional lunch available if you want it, though it costs extra). The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax and rest up before dinner.

This is a downhill walk from Bomerano (700m elevation) all the way to Amalfi on the Mediterranean shore. You're looking at roughly 2,000 steps along old mule tracks, and the coastal views the whole way down are excellent. Once in Amalfi, check out the cathedral with its bright tiled dome, walk through the town streets, or take a swim in the small bay. Grab a gelato if you want one. Later, you'll transfer back up to Bomerano for dinner.

You'll transfer to Mount Vesuvius to see the volcanic crater overlooking the Bay of Naples. After lunch, head by bus to Pompeii, the Roman port town buried in volcanic ash back in 79 CE. Walk through the preserved remains and see bathhouses, bakeries, homes with detailed frescoes, and other structures that show what daily life looked like in ancient Rome. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site for good reason.

Start the day in Ravello, a town known for attracting artists and writers, and you'll have time to look around. Then walk mostly downhill through the Valle delle Ferriere nature reserve, descending quite a few steps along the way. You'll pass moss-covered waterfalls, old paper factories, and medieval ironworks before reaching Amalfi through lemon groves. It's a nice change of pace after the higher elevation walks.

This is your free day. You can stay at the hotel, relax by the pool, or sit at a local cafe. If you want to get out, the hotel arranges private transfers to nearby sites. Options include Herculaneum (another town buried by Vesuvius), taking the ferry to Capri and riding the funicular through lemon groves, visiting Sorrento, or heading to Naples to see the National Archaeological Museum. It's completely up to you.

You'll walk the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods), one of the best-known coastal hikes around here. The route takes you over rolling hills with views of ragged cliffs, small villages, and the Mediterranean below. You'll pass shepherd huts and stone houses carved into the limestone. Eventually you descend long flights of steps to reach Positano, a vertical town built into a sheltered bay. Explore the wisteria-lined alleyways or take a swim. Later, you'll head back to Bomerano by boat and bus. Before dinner, stop at a family-run mozzarella factory to watch traditional smoked cheese production and taste the fresh product.

Your last morning at Hotel Due Torri. Check out from the hotel. If your flight is later in the evening, the hotel lets you use the facilities after checkout and there's an optional lunch available before you head to the airport.
