You'll land at Paris CDG or Orly and get picked up based on when you arrive. After collecting your bags, head out for a boat cruise along the Seine with glass canopy views of the city passing by. The Eiffel Tower comes next with skip-the-line access, so show up 15 minutes early and you can stay right until they close. Keep in mind the schedule might shift around if your flight comes in later or earlier than expected.
Meet up with your local guide at the arranged spot to walk through Paris and see major landmarks like Notre-Dame Cathedral and Pont Neuf. From there you'll head to the Louvre with skip-the-line tickets in hand, giving you the whole day to wander through the museum at whatever pace feels right. You can stay until closing time, so don't rush.
This is your day to move around Paris on your own schedule. Start by walking down Champs-Élysées checking out the shops and street scene, then make your way to Montmartre using the self-guided route on Google Maps to find museums, old vineyards, and the windmills. By evening, walk through Père Lachaise Cemetery where you can see graves of famous figures like Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilde, and learn about how it pioneered the garden cemetery concept.
Catch a train from Paris to Lucerne early in the morning, departing around 6 to 8 AM for the roughly 6-hour journey using your Swiss Pass. Once you check into your hotel, take a train and cable car up Mt. Rigi to see the green meadows, forests, and cows scattered across the Swiss landscape. If Lucerne doesn't suit you, Interlaken costs nothing extra, though Wengen or Grindelwald will run you some additional fees.
Head by train to Engelberg and continue by gondola and cable car up Mt. Titlis for high alpine views of rock and snow. You'll get to ride the Ice Flyer chairlift that goes out over the glacier itself. Later in the day, take a boat on Lake Lucerne where you'll see traditional villages nestled at the base of dramatic mountains.
Take the train from Lucerne to Zurich using your Swiss Pass, then get settled at your hotel. Spend the afternoon on a self-guided walk through the city hitting the Town Hall, Cathedral, Opera House, and the older neighborhoods using Google Maps as your guide. Walk over to the Rhine Falls which is Europe's biggest waterfall and you can view it free from the platforms, though a boat tour there costs CHF 15 if you want to get closer. For lodging, you can stay near the airport or pay CHF 80 extra per night to be in the city center.
Board a train from Zurich early in the morning for Venice, a journey taking 6 to 8 hours with departure around 6 to 9 AM. Check in to your hotel, then spend the rest of the day exploring Venice on foot since walking is really the only way to get around this island city. Cross the Rialto Bridge, see St. Mark's Square, walk the Bridge of Sighs, and check out the Doge's Palace as you navigate the canals.
After breakfast, take the water bus with your 48-hour pass to the Venetian Lagoon islands of Murano, Burano, and Torcello, each known for their distinct character, handicrafts, and history. In the afternoon catch a train to Florence around 3 to 6 PM for the 2-hour ride, then explore the city on foot once you arrive and check in.

Start at the Colosseum, the ancient amphitheater built between 72 and 80 AD that once held 73,000 people across its 4 levels. Your skip-the-line ticket works for 24 hours and also gets you into the Roman Forum and Palatine Museum. In the afternoon head to Vatican City for a self-guided look around St. Peter's Basilica and the square outside. The Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel require a separate ticket you buy on-site, as does climbing the dome, both at additional cost.
Your trip wraps up today. A private cab will pick you up from your hotel and take you to either Rome FCO or Rome CIA airport, arriving 3 hours before your flight departs.
